Photos of Monclova

H.P. Schaller Store circa 1916:The store first began in the old Hubbell store at the intersection of Monclova and Albon Roads. After a few years the Schallers rented a store from Minnie Trapp further east on Monclova Road. In 1915 the Schallers moved their store to this new building at the end of Lose Road. The store operated in this location until it was sold to the Hinkles in 1922. The small room with the diamond was the telephone room where, for a small charge, customers could make calls. Shown in the picture are: Bob Miller, a neighbor child; Anna Schaller; Edna Schaller; Grandma Sussy; Willard Schaller and Harry Schaller. The house to the right belonged to William Kerr.
