Monclova Township Refuse Collection for 2006

RESIDENTS: NOTE THE FOLLOWING SERVICES COVERED UNDER THE TOWNSHIP'S CONTRACT
WITH BFI:
o There are two routes in the township. Please check calendar on reverse page
for pickup dates.
o Service is for every other week collection of normal household waste.
o Limit of 6 bags or 3 containers (33 gallon limit recommended). Tags are available
from BFI (10 for $12.50) for extra garbage. These tags will be mailed directly
to you. Tags are to be attached to extra bag/bags on township pickup days when
there is garbage in excess of the six bag/three can limit. The tags are for
bags ONLY. You may also choose weekly service from BFI. This is a private contract
that you make with BFI.
o Trash must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m.
o No metal or plastic barrels accepted; No item will be accepted that could
harm the truck or staff (steel posts, pool chemicals, etc.)
o Includes one large item per month (on your route's first township pickup of
the month~note star on calendar)
o No construction debris or remodeling debris
o No compost material or items prohibited by EPA or landfill regulations. Questions?

o Rural areas are encouraged to use bags and discard morning of pickup or use
carts to prevent containers from blowing away.
DEFINITIONS:
o LARGE ITEM: Stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, furniture and other waste
materials other than construction debris. Refrigerators and Air Conditioning
units must have Freon removed by a technician, indicated by a sticker or approved
documentation prior to collection
o COMPOSTABLE ITEMS: Yard waste (i.e. lawn clippings, leaves, grass, bush clippings,
branches (5' or less) and tree trunks (10" in diameter or less) can be
taken to Lucas County's yard waste drop-off site, Clean Wood Recycling (419-843-9663)
on 6505 W. Bancroft Street, near McCord.
o CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS: Waste building materials resulting from remodeling, repair,
demo operations or new construction
Extra items, weekly pickup, temporary waste services or roll off containers
can be provided by BFI or a sanitation company of your choice. Look under "Sanitation"
in the yellow pages. This would be a private contract.
