Township Form of Government
Monclova Township is an unincorporated township that
works closely with Lucas County. The township has four elected officials:
three trustees that handle governing issues and a clerk, who is responsible
for record-keeping and financial matters.
Township government concerns itself with providing
its residents with services that include the maintenance of township
roads and ditches, fire protection, emergency services, garbage collection,
township cemeteries and zoning (land uses).
Although township elected officials fill their offices
on a part-time basis, we are always available and ready to meet our
responsibilities face to face and able to deal effectively with modern
problems because of our intimate knowledge of the Monclova Township
community, its needs and its people.
Like any organization or unit of government, township
government is what the people make it. Your personal knowledge of who
administers your township government and of the problems they face will
make us more valuable to you.
Township government offers more personal service,
more attention to individual needs, and a better understanding of local
problems than any other form of government. It does this with lower
cost and with a minimum of red tape because it is closest to those it
serves.
We invite you to a Board of Trustees meeting as a
matter of interest, or if you have a specific issue you wish to discuss.
Board of Trustees: Meets on
the first and third Monday of every month at 5:30 PM
